Nick Ascher started playing guitar at the age of nine by transcribing rock solos he heard on the radio. He eventually entered the world of improvisation and his love of jazz bloomed. While growing up in New York City, Nick was fortunate to study with great New York jazz artists like Chris Rosenberg (Ornette Coleman’s Prime Time), Peter Bernstein, Gene Bertoncini, and Jack Wilkins. In 2000 Nick relocated to Chicago to attend DePaul University where he studied with Bob Palmieri and Bobby Broom. Since graduating in 2004, Nick has shared the stage with many talented rock and jazz musicians. Nick enjoys the windy city for its excellent music and people.
