Teaching philosophy/style:

My philosophy is that every child has the ability to learn and develop a love and appreciation for music. I try to cultivate a nurturing environment that fosters a desire to learn and work hard. I follow the Suzuki curriculum and prioritize developing beautiful tone and posture before introducing note reading.

Parent Policy:

A parent is required to attend all lessons and take notes until the student is old enough and mature enough to take over that responsibility.

Materials needed:

Violin; Sponge or shoulder rest; Suzuki Violin or Viola Volume 1 Book and CD (or appropriate book level if not beginner); notebook.

As well as teaching, she is also the Program Director at the David Adler Music and Arts Center. Heather is an active performer on both violin and viola, and has been a member of the Northbrook Symphony, Northwest Indiana Symphony, New Britain Symphony, and Wallingford Symphony.
