Jessie Zhang

Jessie Zhang piano instructor at David Adler Music and Arts Center

Preferred student age:

Ages 4 – adult

Teaching philosophy/style:

While I focus on developing a strong foundation in technique for classical piano, I always encourage students to have fun and enjoy the process. To maintain students’ interest, I integrate classical music with contemporary music. I implement techniques that are characteristic of a composer and songwriters of different kinds of music, such as blues, jazz, pop, and folk, so that students can understand music in a different perspective. I enjoy finding ways to keep students feel inspired and motivated.

Jessie received her Bachelor’s Degree at Xinghai Conservatory in Guangzhou, China. Jessie also studied at the New England Conservatory to pursue a certificate in jazz piano. She has been teaching piano for 10+ years and has enjoyed teaching students
varying in age and ability. In her lessons, Jessie offers a holistic approach to music that integrates a wide range of topics. Her
lessons include classical repertoire, piano arrangements, sight reading, music theory, ear training, and jazz improvisational
techniques. In addition, Jessie prepares students for success in their auditions, recitals, ABRSM exams, and high school music theory AP classes.
