Gabrielle McCarthy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Classical Guitar Music Performance from Northwestern University. Taking lessons from the age of 8, she nurtured a deep love and respect for music as not only a skill and process, but also as a means to connect to other players and the world around her. After working extra-curricularly at a private studio in Oswego, she attended Northwestern, and through teachings and discipline of Anne Waller and guest master classes, finessed both technical and musical proficiency.

At University, Gabrielle involved herself in small and large guitar ensembles, as well as rehearsing in small groups with other instruments to learn the art of group playing. On top of ensemble, Gabrielle also furthered her knowledge by performing and attending master classes by world renowned players such as Hopkinson Smith, Oscar Ghiglia, Anton Baranov, Jason Vieaux, and Ana Vidovic.Gabrielle takes great joy in passing on the knowledge, skills and techniques she’s gained in her life to students that wish to become avid learners and ultimately artists in music. She understands she will always be a student of music, and hopes to welcome and help anyone looking and interested in the art.
